The OpenFabrics Alliance has announced the keynote talk for their Developers’ Workshop on Sunday, March 15 at 7.30 PM at the Marriott in Monterey CA.
Katie Antypas, a department head at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing (NERSC) Center of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will discuss “Preparing the broad Department of Energy, Office of Science user community for advanced manycore architectures,” as a step towards preparing applications for extreme scalability and increasingly energy efficient computing.
11th Annual International OFS Developers Workshop
Tiered and parallel application performance and scalability is critically dependent on latency, bandwidth and efficient data motion between servers. OpenFabrics Software (OFS), based on Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) techniques, is the software and middleware that optimizes server workloads, bypasses legacy protocol stacks, reduces operating system copies, all with the goal of increasing application performance and computing efficiencies.
This workshop is devoted to advancing the state of the art practiced by the developers of this open source community dedicated to application and middleware performance along with server scalability, and efficiency. The workshop comprises technologists, software developers, product managers and customers who are working together in an open, interactive forum to collaboratively guide the future evolution of the OpenFabrics Software (OFS) for High Performance Technical, Big Data, Web Service, Cloud and Embedded computing.
The workshop kicks off with the key note talk followed by a reception later Sunday evening, March 15. Then there are two and half days of topic-specific discussions led by architects, developers, technologist and industry leaders. 2015 OFS User Group Workshop
The OpenFabrics Software User Group (formerly known as IBUG) will get together for a day and a half of training and discussions on administering systems built on OpenFabrics Software (OFS). This unique event brings together users of all types of RDMA technologies including InfiniBand, RoCE, and iWARP bundled in the OpenFabrics Software suite, providing them with a setting to talk together about the challenges and different opportunities using OFS.
This workshop kicks off Thursday, March 19. For more information and to register, please visit the OFS User Group Workshop page.
