logo-allineaToday Allinea Software announced that the C, C++ and F90 debugger Allinea DDT is now available for the OpenPOWER POWER8 architecture – marking a significant arrival in the ecosystem for developers on the platform.

Nvidia and Allinea are working closely together to enable cluster debugging for the latest CUDA and OpenACC on many platforms”, said Ian Buck, Vice President of Accelerated Computing, Nvidia. By creating a uniform experience across multiple architectures, we make developers more productive, and ultimately applications portable to the latest GPU enabled Power systems such as the upcoming Summit cluster at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.”

Allinea’s tools for debugging, performance profiling and analysis are widely used throughout the high performance computing market – and are relied on by 70% of the most powerful supercomputers.

We are delighted to be announcing the availability of our debugger on the platform and first customer delivery at the OpenPOWER Summit this week. Developers who are migrating their applications to OpenPOWER need tools that will let them hit the ground running. Our cross-platform and highly-scalable solution will enable this transitioning to be completed in their favorite tool suite – with the power and capability for which the products are well-known,” said Mark O’Connor, VP Product Management of Allinea Software.

Allinea is exhibiting at the GPU Technology Conference this week, demonstrating its cross-platform development and analysis tools and leading tutorials for porting and tuning applications to the Nvidia CUDA architecture.
