The HPC Advisory Council has become a cornerstone for HPC outreach and education worldwide,” said Alexandre Ramos, Assistant Professor, at the University of Sao Paulo. “We look forward to work together to bring world-class speakers and attendees to the conference, and offer workshops and tutorials delivered by industry leaders.”
The HPC Advisory Council Brazil Conference will focus on HPC productivity, and advanced HPC topics and futures, and will bring together system managers, researchers, developers, computational scientists and industry affiliates to discuss recent developments and future advancements in High-Performance Computing and the cloud. Speaker and sponsorship opportunities are available.
LNCC and UFRJ are currently building new open science HPC infrastructures that will reshape the Latin American HPC scene, and this week of HPC education and collaboration will help set the stage for furthering our research,” said, Alvaro Coutinho, UFRJ HPC Center Director, and Pedro Dias, LNCC Director. “LNCC is installing a 1 Petaflop machine, the new Tier 0 of the Brazilian HPC system, and UFRJ has a current open procurement for a similar system. HPC in Latin America has never looked brighter.”
The HPCAC conference is co-located with the First Rio de Janeiro High Performance Computing School – ERAD-RJ 2015 and CARLA 2015 Latin America High Performance Computing Conference, completing a full week regional forum to foster the growth of the HPC community in Latin America through the exchange and dissemination of new ideas, techniques, and research in HPC. The CARLA 2015 conference registration provides free registration to HPCAC-Brazil conference and to the ERAD-RJ school, but registration is required.
