johnsJohns Hopkins University is seeking an HPC Software Engineer in our Job of the Week.

The selected software engineer will play a key role in helping JHU-CISMMS researchers transform their research codes into user oriented semi-commercial applications. This role will involve software design and development, code optimization and debugging, parallelization of existing codes, data management, and development of user interfaces. Experience performing software development in an HPC environment is required for this position. Strong interpersonal skills are needed as interaction with the industry and government laboratory user base will be required. In limited cases, some applications may be open sourced, in these cases, the staff member will need to assist with repository management, documentation, and regression testing. The staff person will be expected to assist researcher”s various needs and create smooth interfaces between collaborators working on heterogeneous codes and platforms. Additionally, they will be expected to develop modular training programs for JHU-CISMMS members and associates.
