Flow Science has just released FLOW-3D/MP v6.1, the high-performance computing version of its flagship CFD software, FLOW-3D. Enhancements include active simulation control, batch post processing and report generation.
Our 5-6 day simulations became 15-18 hour simulations using FLOW-3D/MP running on our cluster with Infiniband interconnect,” said Dr. Justin Crapps of Los Alamos National Labs. “Decreased simulation time allows us to investigate more design options and additional physics/phenomenological complexity.”
FLOW-3D/MP has shown scaling of up to 512 cores for several applications that include water and environmental, casting, microfluidics, and aerospace, and version 6.1 is the fastest FLOW-3D/MP to date. FLOW-3D/MP users are able to take advantage of the same accuracy in solving complex physics and numerics as well as increased usability in FLOW-3D, but with a significant increase in performance.
Flow Science is a leading provider of computational fluid dynamics solutions. Flow Science’s flagship CFD software, FLOW-3D, provides a powerful tool for complex fluid modeling problems. FLOW-3D enables highly accurate simulations of free-surface flows using the TruVOF Volume-of-Fluid technique.
