Today DDN announced a new collaboration with Lenovo at its Global HPC Innovation Center in Stuttgart, Germany, which offers a permanent R&D and application benchmarking site for customers. DDN EXAScaler storage incorporating the Lustre file system is installed at the center, and allows users to benchmark the storage and file system elements of an HPC Solution from DDN in combination with Lenovo’s HPC systems and solutions.
The Lenovo HPC organization is delighted to welcome DDN into our HPC Innovation and Benchmark center and strengthen our close collaboration,” said Rick Koopman, EMEA Technical Lead HPC DCG HPC at Lenovo. “With DDN’s high-performance storage and Lustre filesystem solution, customers can easily facilitate proof of concept and benchmarking activities at our HPC Innovation center and more quickly determine the best solution for their needs. We are excited to support our HPC customers and partners in this way.”
Lenovo’s HPC Innovation Center storage is powered by the DDN ES7K, a DDN EXAScaler appliance that builds on the experience of over a decade of Lustre development, system design, implementation and support. EXAScaler combines the industry’s most powerful storage architecture with the leading Lustre distribution – Intel Enterprise Edition for Lustre, DDN integration tools, system monitoring and deep expertise across engineering, pre-sales and support to deliver the industry’s fastest, most advanced Lustre appliance, proven in the most demanding HPC environments.
“DDN is excited to further collaborate with Lenovo to deliver the most innovative solutions for the HPC market,” said James Coomer, EMEA Technical Director at DDN. “As a long-standing DDN partner, Lenovo has been proposing our storage solutions to the HPC market for years. With its recent move to cover a broader spectrum of the HPC market, DDN and Lenovo have expanded our collaboration efforts and are working together to provide DDN-based Lustre solutions to Lenovo customers.”
