Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking a Science Writer and Communications Specialist in our Job of the Week.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites candidates to apply for the position of science writer and communications specialist in the Communications Directorate to support the Exascale Computing Project (ECP) with a wide range of content development and outreach activities. The primary purpose of this position is to assist with strategic planning, research, writing, editing, and development of internal and public-facing documents, including outreach activities to the media, as part of ECP’s overall effort to raise awareness, communicate with partners and stakeholders, and build name recognition with external audiences. This person will lead ECP writing efforts and coordinate additional services of US Department of Energy (DOE) lab resources and contractors as necessary. ECP is a collaboration between two DOE organizations: the Office of Science and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Part of the National Strategic Computing Initiative signed by President Obama in 2015, ECP is led by six national laboratories. ORNL is directing ECP’s communications and outreach component.
