Mellanox ConnectX-5 Sets DPDK Performance Record with 100Gb/s Ethernet

“The I/O intensive nature of the Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) including virtual Firewall, virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC), virtual Session Border Controller (vSBC), Anti-DDoS and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) applications have posed significant challenges to build cost-effective NFV Infrastructures that meet packet rate, latency, jitter and security requirements. Leveraging its wealth of experience in building high-performance server/storage I/O components and switching systems for High Performance Computing, Hyperscale data centers, and telecommunications operators, Mellanox has the industry’s broadest range of intelligent Ethernet NIC and switch solutions; spanning interface speeds from 10, 25, 40, 50 to 100Gb/s.”

Mellanox Shipping ConnectX-5 Adapter

“We are pleased to start shipping the ConnectX-5, the industry’s most advanced network adapter, to our key partners and customers, allowing them to leverage our smart network architecture to overcome performance limitations and to gain a competitive advantage,” said Eyal Waldman, Mellanox president and CEO. “ConnectX-5 enables our customers and partners to achieve higher performance, scalability and efficiency of their InfiniBand or Ethernet server and storage platforms. Our interconnect solutions, when combined with Intel, IBM, NVIDIA or ARM CPUs, allow users across the world to achieve significant better return on investment from their IT infrastructure.”

Mellanox Enhances RoCE Software to Simplify RDMA Deployments

Today Mellanox announced the availability of new software drivers for RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet). The new drivers are designed to simplify RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) deployments on Ethernet networks and enable high-end performance using RoCE, without requiring the network to be configured for lossless operation. This enables cloud, storage, and enterprise customers to deploy RoCE more quickly and easily while accelerating application performance, improving infrastructure efficiency and reducing cost.

Mellanox Technology Accelerates the World’s Fastest Supercomputer

Today Mellanox announced that the company’s interconnect technology accelerates the world’s fastest supercomputer at the supercomputing center in Wuxi, China. The new number one supercomputer delivers 93 Petaflops (3 times higher compared to the previous top system), connecting nearly 41 thousand nodes and more than ten million CPU cores. The offloading architecture of the Mellanox interconnect solution is the key to providing world leading performance, scalability and efficiency, connecting the highest number of nodes and CPU cores within a single supercomputer.

Slidecast: Announcing Mellanox ConnectX-5 100G InfiniBand Adapter

“Today, scalable compute and storage systems suffer from data bottlenecks that limit research, product development, and constrain application services. ConnectX-5 will help unleash business potential with faster, more effective, real-time data processing and analytics. With its smart offloading, ConnectX-5 will enable dramatic increases in CPU, GPU and FPGA performance that will enhance effectiveness and maximize the return on data centers’ investment.”
