2020 HiPEAC Conference to Showcase European Computing Technologies

The 2020 HiPEAC conference will kick off next week in Bologna to showcase the innovative made-in-Europe technologies driving computing systems from the edge to the cloud. This year, the conference will dive into radical new developments in European processor technology, including open source hardware, while building on HiPEAC’s long-established reputation for cutting-edge research into heterogeneous architectures, cross-cutting artificial intelligence themes, security and more.

Eurolab4HPC Call for Participation: Short Term Collaborations and Business Prototyping Projects

Today Eurolab4HPC issued a pair of Calls for Participation for Business Prototyping Projects and Short Term Collaboration Grants. “Eurolab4HPC gives grants to PhD students, early career researchers, senior researchers, academics, and industrial technical leaders to participate on a 2-day business-to-innovation workshop in Gothenburg and/or to work on a common project in different layers of the compute stack. As grantees in Business Prototyping Projects are mentored using the business model canvas, grantees in Short Term Collaborations conduct independent small studies and benchmarking activities to capture requirements, metrics and opportunities to improve the platforms and technologies.”

PRACEdays16 Wraps Up in Prague

PRACEdays16 was held May 10-12 in Prague, Czech Republic. More than 220 participants joined the plenary and parallel sessions for keynote presentations and discussions about and between science, industry and HPC. “PRACEdays16 has been a success throughout with more participants, more interactions, and more awards. We clearly see the need for this conference and the entire European HPC Summit Week to be developed into the signature event for HPC in science and industry in Europe,” said Alison Kennedy Chair of the PRACE Board of Directors.
