IBM moves to 10Gbps I/O fabrics

IBM announced yesterday the Virtual Fabric Architecture: a collection of interconnect technologies and management tools for the BladeCenter H system.

The new technologies focus around delivering 10 Gbit/s connectivity to IBM blades, including hardware from partners such as Nortel 10G switches, NetXen 10G Ethernet cards, and the Cisco Embedded Fibre Channel Fabric Switch.

Lots of details in the press release.
