HPCwire’s coverage yesterday included an announcement by Terra Soft about the formation of the Terra Soft HPC Consortium:
The consortium’s primary goal is developing, validating, and disseminating next generation tools and procedures for the creation, management, and growth of life science HPC ecosystems…
Much of the consortium’s excitement revolves around the Cell-based clusters scheduled to be installed in Terra Soft’s new 3000 sq-ft supercomputing center.
Terra Soft got started as a provider of Yellow Dog Linux installation and professional services on Apples’ PowerPC line, and has since expanded to Yellow Dog Linux support for new 970, POWER5, and Cell based systems along with “HPC application development.”
