HP announced yesterday that Borsa Italiana, the Italian stock exchange, has deployed an HP Cluster Platform supercomputer to reliably distribute trading information to financial institutions, consolidate its server systems and lower energy costs.
The exchange’s HPC system comprised of 130 HP BladeSystem BL servers with dual core Opterons (source).

Borsa Italiana has joined AMD’s growing roster of global exchange customers, including NYSE Group, Inc., the International Securities Exchange’s Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Montréal Exchange and Philadelphia Stock Exchange.
