Cray posted financial results today for the fourth quarter and all of 2007. They lost money in the quarter and for the year:
Revenue for the quarter was $57.4 million compared to $101.4 million in the prior year period. The company reported a net loss for the quarter of ($3.6 million) or ($0.11) per share compared to net income of $8.7 million or $0.33 per share in the fourth quarter of 2006.
For the year Cray lost $5.7M on revenues of $186.2M, but with better margins: in `06 they lost $12.1M on revenue of $221M. For my money (and I know nothing about money) this means that if the company can book the revenue it has in the channel that’s being held hostage by crappy chip partners, 2008 might be a better year for them.
