NOAA NCEP Cuts RFI For HPC

HPCWire posted the 411 on a new Request for Information released out of NOAA’s National Center for Environmental Prediction [NCEP].  From the release:

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) anticipates acquiring advanced high performance computing systems (HPCS) to meet its operational and research and development computing requirements. This requirement includes the possibility of accommodating unanticipated additional internal NOAA HPC requirements as well as external partner agency’s weather related HPC needs. The new Operational Centralized Computing System (OCCS) will replace or augment the current Operational and the Research and Development HPCS platforms at the National Centers for Environmental Predictions (NCEP) headquartered in Camp Springs, Md.
