Wyoming Includes Supercomputer in Stimulus Wishlist

Gov. Dave Freundenthal of Wyoming has announced details on his economic stimulus list destined for President-elect Barack Obama.  The list lays out more than $1 billion in state projects the governor would like to see funded under the new head honcho.  Included in the stimulus list is $50 million dedicated to a supercomputer project at the University of Wyoming.  $50 million will buy you a darn nice machine these days.

According to Obama’a aides, the stimulus bill won’t be ready until mid-Feb, then must be ratified by Congress and the House of Representatives.  There were no further details on the machine request mentioned in the article.  Any of our readers from Wyoming care to comment?
