Altair Releases Personal PBS

HPCWire: Altair released a new version of their popular batch scheduling software package, deemed Personal PBS.  The new package is aimed at optimizing compute workloads on shared, multi-core workstations.

Personal PBS is exciting because it provides a free, simple tool that allows our customers to increase productivity by leveraging available computing hardware,” said Dr. Bill Nitzberg, chief technology officer at GridWorks. “And for PBS Professional customers with a high-performance backend cluster computer, users can seamlessly take advantage of both the backend cluster and their own desktops to do more faster.”

Personal PBS is based on the same software based as the original PBSPro stack.  For more info on the new batch digs, read the full release here at HPCWire.
