The Korea Meteorological Administration has selected Cray as the preferred bidder to negotiate a multi-year contract to provide KMA with its next generation supercomputing platform. KMA’s mission is to provide operational weather and forecasting capability to the Korean public and industry. The increased need for higher resolution models has sparked the demand for further supercomputing power.

Contract negotiations are ongoing and an official announcement will be made once the contract has been completed, which is expected to occur in the coming months.
