That’s right, kids, more science fun from Fermilab at SC09. This came in over the email transom this week
The Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider on the French/Swiss border is establishing a worldwide network of operations centers to enable its 2000 collaborators to participate effectively in its research program.
These centers communicate with the main CMS control room at CERN and with each other via Web services and HD video links. They provide a shared forum for communications, experiment operations and monitoring, data analysis, training and outreach.
Fermilab hosts the principal U.S. hub for data from CMS, and has established a large, permanent CMS center. SC09 marks the debut of this smaller, mobile CMS center.
