Society of HPC Professionals announces first general meeting

We wrote about the formation of the Society of HPC Professionals earlier this year as they were just getting started. It seems that Bill Menger and the guys are making progress with the group, and they have announced the first general meeting of the SHPC for later this month.

The meeting will be held April 28, 2010 at the WesternGeco meeting facilities in Houston, Texas (USA). One of the best ways to keep up with the society is by signing up for their email list, which is how I found out about it. From that email:

The format of the April meeting will involve discussion leaders conducting two-way discussions with the attendees. These discussions will be used to identify primary areas of HPC interest. This information will be used to schedule Special Interest Group and Round Table meetings. A preliminary copy of the meeting agenda and some recent SHPCP announcement are attached.

Participation at this meeting will provide you the opportunity to have your requests and opinions heard concerning the organization of the Society and its plans. If you are interested, please place this meeting date on your calendar. We will be forwarding additional information as our meeting plans progress.

Be sure to check the society’s homepage for additional information.
