Parry lands at SolarFlare

Last week SolarFlare Communications announced that it has picked up Dave Parry to head up engineering. I knew Parry when he was at SGI, which he left SGI in January of 2009 amid a flurry of cost cutting at the company. Dave was was Senior Vice President, Server Products and Operations, and had been at SGI for years.

SolarFlare makes 10GbE “adapters, silicon, and middleware,” and targets HPC and the financial markets.

“I am excited to be joining Solarflare. The company has a compelling 10GbE portfolio from silicon to middleware to network products, and a world-class leadership and engineering team to design and deliver it. This portfolio offers a unique value proposition to customers deploying next-generation, high-performance networks,” said Parry. “Solarflare is positioned to be the silicon, software and middleware leader for high performance computing (HPC), high frequency trading (HFT), and virtualized and cloud networking. I am looking forward to this opportunity to apply my past experience in chip and systems development for high-performance servers to further advance Solarflare’s technology and product leadership.”

Congrats to Dave on the landing with best wishes for the future.
