SC10 Session Preview: Developing, Recruiting, and Retaining Women in HPC

An SC10 Birds of a Feather session at will discuss the challenges facing women in high-performance computing. Developing, Recruiting, and Retaining in Women in HPC will be held Tuesday, November 16 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 391 of the convention center.

The panel will comprise three professionals representing academia, national laboratories, and industry, who will share experiences from their careers. Dr. Nan Boden, President and CEO of Myricom, helped found Myricom in 1994 and has served in a variety of both technical and managerial capacities during her tenure. Dr. Lois Curfman McInnes, a Computational Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), is a developer of the software suite PETSc and has led many Department of Energy projects during her seventeen years at ANL. Professor Patricia Teller, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), has been integrally involved in the establishment of UTEP¹s High-Performance Computing infrastructure as well as a tireless advocate of students from under-represented populations.
