Cray Wins $43 Million in DoD Contracts

DODOver at Motley Fool, Rich Smith writes that Cray was a big winner in a set of DoD contract modifications awarded this week.

Cray was the big winner, notching a pair of contract modifications — each worth $21.8 million — paying the supercomputer-builder for high performance computing systems needed to conduct complex, large-scale scientific calculations. The first of these two contracts relates to computer work that Cray will be doing for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory DoD Supercomputing Resource Center at Wright-Patterson, Air Force Base in Ohio. The second relates to work for the U.S. Navy DoD Supercomputing Resource Center John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Each contract modification extends the period of its respective Cray contract through July 28, 2018.
