It’s me again–Dr. Lewey Anton. I’ve been commissioned by insideHPC to get the scoop on who’s jumping ship and moving on up in high performance computing.
Here are the latest developments:
- HP’s Frank Baetke is the new chairman of the EOFS (European Open File System) board.
-
Caroline Connor is now a Senior Marketing Communications Manager at Mellanox. Caroline is familiar face to many in the HPC industry, having spent many years at Oracle, SGI, Sun, and Tabor Communications.
- Nick Gorga has joined Cray as vice president of sales for the Asia Pacific region. You may remember Gorga from previous sales positions at SGI and Prime Computer.
-
Trev Harmon has left Adaptive Computing for a new gig as Managing Director at Rysyr. As a consulting company, Rysyr “strives to enable and teach leaders to use capitalism in a conscious manner, which will benefit all instead of just the few.”
- Sandia National Laboratories Director Paul Hommert announced that he will retire by mid-summer, ending a five-year stint as lab head and a 41-year career.
-
Christopher Kliewer from Sandia has won a $2.5 million, five-year Early Career Research Program award from the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science for his fundamental science proposal to develop new optical diagnostic tools to study interfacial combustion interactions that are major sources of pollution and vehicle inefficiency.
UPDATE:
-
Sumit Gupta has left his position as GM of Nvidia’s Tesla business unit for a new gig as VP of HPC & OpenPOWER Operations at IBM.
