Today Seagate announced that it is combining its Cloud Storage, High Performance Computing, and Electronic Solutions groups to further align the company’s full breadth of enterprise storage hardware capabilities.
Over the last year we have acquired a unique set of capabilities in storage systems, high performance computing and flash memory PCIe to expand our market leading enterprise storage technology portfolio,” said Steve Luczo, Seagate’s chairman and chief executive officer. “By bringing together our cloud systems and solutions and electronic solutions organizations we will be able to better align our full breadth of hardware expertise and enterprise storage capabilities.”
Executive Vice President Phil Brace, who currently leads the Electronic Solutions Business Group, will leverage his deep background in storage hardware and solutions to lead the new combined organization as interim president, reporting to Luczo. Jamie Lerner, who has served as president of the Cloud Systems and Solutions Business Group, will be stepping down and transitioning over the next few months.
