It’s me again–Dr. Lewey Anton. I’ve been commissioned by insideHPC to get the scoop on who’s jumping ship and moving on up in high performance computing.

Here are the latest developments:

  • Janice P. Anderson

    Janice P. Anderson

    Janice P Anderson has joined the Board at Univa. Her recent executive and advisory roles include: Swype, Twisted Pair Solutions, Muze Inc. and Onyx Software (ONXS).  Prior to these positions, Janice created a high growth CRM business unit for Lucent Technologies and led international operations for AT&T Corporation. She has also founded several high growth technology businesses and led over 15 corporate exits and combinations.

  • Ronald Blessing

    Ronald Blessing

    Ronald Blessing is now Director of Sales for HPDA at SGI. You may know Ron from previous gigs at Omniscient Solutions and Massively Parallel Technologies (MPT). Ron is responsible for sales and go to market efforts for SGI’s UV for HANA, a breakthrough in-memory hardware appliance for using a scale-up, single-node architecture with coherent shared memory of up to 24TB for running SAP Business Suite and other SAP applications in large enterprises.

  • Michael Douglas

    Michael Douglas

    Michael Douglas is now Vice President of Field Marketing at Nvidia. An innovator with a history of designing and leading process improvements, Douglas was previously at Preston Willis Group PartnersSun Microsystems, and Teltone.

  • Rick Friedman

    Rick Friedman

    Rick Friedman has joined Cycle Computing as Vice President of Solutions. Friedman joins Cycle Computing from Dell’s Research Computing team where he worked with many leading organizations in strategizing, defining, and deploying large computational environments. As a seasoned executive in marketing, sales, and product management, Friedman has gained his experience at other high performance technology companies like Terascala, and Scali.

  • Karl Freund

    Karl Freund

    Karl Freund has moved on from his position as Vice President of HPC at AMD. You may know Karl from previous gigs at Calxeda, Moor Insights, SGI, and HP. I’m sure we will see him at SC15, but in the meantime, Karl continues to evangelize ARM processing for HPC over at his NOT XEON Blog.

  • Robert J. Nikl

    Robert J. Nikl

    Robert J. Nikl, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Vice President of Finance will be retiring from SGI. Mr. Nikl has served as Executive Vice President of Finance and CFO since joining SGI in May of 2012. Nikl will continue in his CFO role until the filing of the company’s quarterly report on SEC Form 10-Q for the fiscal first quarter of 2016, and will serve in an advisory capacity through the end of the calendar year.

  • Andrew Walsh

    Andrew Walsh

    Andrew Walsh is now Senior Director of Data Center Marketing at Xilinx. Walsh was previously Sr. Director of Marketing, Enterprise and Data Center at Nvidia.

  • Mark Woodyard is now an HPC Solutions Architect at SGI Federal. Mark brings a wealth of experience from IBM, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Cray.
