PfizerPfizer in Connecticut is seeking an HPC Linux Engineer in our Job of the Week.

We are seeking an accomplished Linux operations engineer with a comprehensive understanding of Linux including systems administration, application tuning and optimization with a strong working knowledge of multiple scientific domains in support of HPC users. The candidate should have demonstrated troubleshooting abilities and would lead our efforts in enabling and maintaining leading edge scientific applications. The successful candidate will be part of a skilled team working on their own defining the necessary tasks in complex situations. The candidate must have the ability to work with a broad group of internal and external scientific and technical experts and would be responsible for implementing new capabilities and troubleshooting problems. Strong communication skills are required, as they would be responsible for keeping stakeholders informed of the team’s activities. They should possess a demonstrated talent for developing innovative solutions to improve HPC services.

The successful candidate will be the key resource for providing expert guidance on the building, installation and execution of complex scientific applications for the High Performance Computing (HPC) environments (internal and cloud), working with other engineers to maintain and support, the Linux HPC systems, with a focus on application performance. When called upon they will be involved with installing, compiling, troubleshooting, and optimizing applications and workflows in the Linux HPC environments.
