New HPC products and technologies. Compelling demos. Insights from top Intel HPC architects. More than 60 presentations from Intel and industry experts. Additional details about Intel® Scalable System Framework.
Intel will have something for everyone at this year’s International Supercomputing Conference in Frankfurt, Germany.
The agenda kicks off with a special presentation by Rajeeb Hazra, VP of Intel’s Data Center Group, speaking on HPC’s Next Frontier. Hazra will discuss why AI will be the next Exascale workload, the infrastructure that will be required, the micro/macro-convergence impacts, and how the latest HPC initiatives will make AI a reality. Additionally, Hazra will share details of upcoming new technologies, and a roadmap that will solidify the path to Exascale via Intel® Scalable System Framework.
The action then moves to the Intel booth where, in the Collaboration Hub, there will be more than 60 ecosystem partners and researchers who will present insights from their work over the course of four days. You will also find Intel experts readily available in the booth to answer questions about Intel hardware and software products, as well as code modernization.
The booth demos will run on a cluster based on Intel® Scalable System Framework (Intel® SSF), utilizing Intel® Xeon Phi™ processors (code name Knights Landing), the latest Intel® Xeon® processors, Intel® Omni-path fabric, Intel® Enterprise Edition of Lustre* and other key Intel technologies. Here are the highlights:
- Human Brain Neuron Growth from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne(EPFL) demonstrates how scientists create morphologically accurate neurons to simulate sub-cellular and electrical activities.
- Machine Learning: Drug Discovery from Kyoto University explores how deep learning accelerates the drug discovery process. The demo features code ported from a GPU architecture to the Intel Xeon Phi processor to demonstrate extraordinary performance.
- COSMOS Black Hole Simulation shows a visualization of Black Holes colliding and generating gravitational waves in super real-time, using an Intel SSF compute block and featuring Intel OPA and Intel® Optane SSDs.
- CST Electro Magnetics Analysis will demonstrate a real world Electro Magnetic solution with a transient solver as an example of how researchers work across the electromagnetic spectrum to model systems and optimize RF designs. Simulation progress will be visualized on a workstation.
Finally, you’ll want to join the Fuel Your Insight Tour to see Intel technologies in action in partner booths, including demos featuring new Intel products announced at the show. Visitors who participate will receive a special gift upon completing the tour. If you are at ISC, be sure and stop by Intel booth # 930 and see the latest technology that will have everyone talking.
