SC16 to Feature 38 HPC Workshops

SC16Today SC16 announced that the conference will feature 38 high-quality workshops to complement the overall Technical Program events, expand the knowledge base of its subject area, and extend its impact by providing greater depth of focus.

The Workshop Committee after the review process decided to accept 16 full-day and 22 half-day workshops. They include 6 new workshops” said Ewa Deelman, SC16 Workshops Chair from University of Southern California. “The themes of the new workshops include such important topics as post-Moore era supercomputing, medical applications of HPC, high-performance graph data processing, optimization of communication networks in HPC, applications of PGAS model, and HPC systems professionals” said Maciej Malawski, SC16 Workshops Vice Chair from AGH University of Science and Technology.

These new topics complement the well established SC themes such as architectures, programming models, performance modeling, algorithms, tools, runtime systems, networking and I/O, energy efficiency, and applications.

The workshops will be held on Sunday, Monday and Friday during SC16.

Registration is now open for SC16, which takes place Nov. 13-18 in Salt Lake City.
