SC17 Rules for Kids

Many SC attendees are parents, and some of them need to bring their children with them in November. As of SC17, all children (of any age) must be registered at the Special Assistance desk in the registration area. Access policies differ according to the age of the child and the particular conference venue involved.

Access to Sessions

Children 6 months or under may be brought into all conference sessions. If the child begins to fuss or becomes a distraction to other attendees, the parent will step out to address the needs of the child. Reentry will be permitted once the disruption is resolved.

Exhibit floor Access

Due to insurance liabilities, children’s access to the exhibit floor is very restricted:

  • Only individuals 16 years of age or older are allowed in the exhibit hall during installation, dismantling, or before/after posted exhibit hours.
Children ages 12-16 are permitted to access the exhibit hall during regular hours, as long as they are registered for Exhibits Only. Each child must wear a badge and be accompanied by a registered adult at all times.
  • On Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00, parents with children are invited to walk through the exhibit hall. All family members must be registered and badged, but no fee is charged during that period. Note that this is the only time that period.
  • These policies are listed in the exhibitor manual provided to all registered exhibitors and enforced by SC security.

Registration is now open for SC17, which takes place Nov. 12-17 in Denver.
