The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre in Australia is seeking a Visualization Specialist in our Job of the Week.

As a member of the Data and Visualization team at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, the Visualization Specialist will support services related to visualization including providing guidance, expert advice and helping users in designing and implementing analysis and visualization workflows.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help clients with developing data visualization pipelines.
  • Continue to develop expertise in large scale data visualization.
  • Support integration of visualization hardware and software with data management and supercomputing infrastructure.
  • Support remote visualization and integrate remote visualization with all the available Pawsey visualization resources.
  • Manage faults and maintenance interaction with vendors.
  • Ensure effective response to service support issues.
  • Ensure effective documentation for data visualisation procedures.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing across the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre.
  • Assist with planning and development of events to support and promote Pawsey services.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s reputation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within your team, the business unit and across CSIRO, to reach objectives.
  • Adhere to the spirit and practice of CSIRO’s Values, Health, Safety and Environment plans and policies, Diversity initiatives and Zero Harm goals.
  • Any other duties within the scope of this position that may arise from time-to-time, for which the incumbent holds the skills and abilities to perform.

The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre is a national world-class supercomputing and high volume data storage facility operating petascale compute and associated storage infrastructure. The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre represents an AU$80 million investment by the Australian Federal Government, and is an unincorporated joint venture of the CSIRO, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia, supported by funding from the Western Australian and Federal government. As lead agent for the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, the CSIRO employs Pawsey Supercomputing Centre staff.
