The Jülich Supercomputing Centre in Germany is seeking a Research Scientist specializing on HPC processor architectures in our Job of the Week.

The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) is one of the three national supercomputing centres in Germany. It is partnering with leading technology providers on co-design hardware architectures for future supercomputers. In this context we research on current and future ARM-based architectures for high-performance computing. The research will be performed within the European project “MB2020“.

As a member of the Helmholtz Association, Forschungszentrum Jülich makes an effective contribution to solving major challenges facing society in the fields of information, energy, and bioeconomy. It focuses on varied tasks in the area of research management and utilizes large, often unique, scientific infrastructure. Come and work with around 5,900 colleagues across a range of topics and disciplines at one of Europe’s largest research centres.

Your Job:

  • Design and implementation of code generation tools for future ARM architectures
  • Analysis of scientific use cases and derivation of architectural requirements
  • Contribute to identification of potential bottlenecks in the design of a future processor design when executing real applications
  • Extrapolation of future requirements towards exascale
  • Supervise and contribute to implementation of mini-applications and application demonstration flow
