The University of California at San Diego is seeking an Applications Programmer in our Job of the Week.
The Applications Programmer will assist the Neurosciences IT Manager and business office IT team. Provides technical support and assists with the design, implementation and maintenance of all Neurosciences websites and applications, utilizing Windows Operating System, MacOS and web-connected relational database applications (DB2, MS-SQL, MySQL, and Access). Provides all necessary services to ensure continuous availability of high-quality web applications and assistance to Neurosciences to update content and maximize effective use of this technology. Maintain web applications, security and related infrastructures. Use programs and operating systems associated with web browsers, compilers, databases; perform system backups and program using C#, JavaScript and PhP. Perform application testing and error reporting. Assist in determining computing requirements and relate those requirements to existing systems. Performs other related functions as required.
Qualifications include:
- Strong experience with web site programming as well as development of system requirements and system design. Experience in all aspects of web site development, web site testing, execution of testing and error reporting.
- Programming experience with Java, Python, C# , PHP, Javascript,JQuery, CSS and HTML, proven ability to interface between web application and relational databases using JDBC, ODBC, OLEDB.
- Proven ability to interface between web application and relational databases, particularly DB2, MS-SQL, Mysql , MonggoDB, MariaDB.
