HPC and AI Convergence Take Center Stage for Intel at SC18

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This sponsored post covers offerings to expect from Intel at SC18 later this month, many of which are focused on the points of HPC and AI convergence.

Intel will focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence and leading edge HPC systems in booth #3223 at SC18, held this year in Dallas, Texas during November 11-15.

Intel will show how an HPC cluster based on Intel® Xeon® processors can be optimized and provide your quickest path to AI without having to invest in new and expensive accelerators and/or GPUs.

HPC and AI

To meet the new computational challenges presented by this AI and HPC convergence, HPC is expanding beyond its traditional role of modeling and simulation to encompass visualization, analytics, and machine learning. Intel scientists and engineers will be available to discuss how to implement AI capabilities into your current HPC environments and demo how new, more powerful HPC platforms can be applied to meet your computational needs now and in the future.

Here are a few opportunities for you to schedule some time in advance to learn more or discuss your specific challenges:

HPC Forum 2018

Imagination, Innovation and Insight Powered by Intel – Scaling and Enabling HPC, High Performance Data Analytics, and AI for YOU

The Forum will be held Sunday, Nov. 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at One Intel Station at Union Station. It features some of the top people in the industry who will share insights, best practices, techniques and their take on the future of HPC as it is unfolding today. Intel and industry experts will present actual case studies detailing the problems and pitfalls as well as the promise of these technical innovations.

Raj Hazra, Intel Vice President and General Manager of High Performance Computing, will highlight current dynamics in the HPC ecosystem and discuss technical considerations to meet current and future needs. Hear Intel’s point-of-view and exciting announcements and partnerships on the future of HPC and AI systems.

The session will be followed by a Networking Happy Hour from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Station Master’s Lounge. Register in advance here.

There will be other HPC presentations scheduled during the show week. Check the Intel SC18 website as the show nears for updates on industry luminaries speaking at SC18.

One Intel Station

Be sure to visit One Intel Station during your sojourn in Dallas. It’s a place where the HPC community can network and bring together subject experts from across the industry to address the latest HPC and AI challenges.

One Intel Station is only a short walk from SC18. It will host an abundance of great activities, including the Intel HPC Forum, Breakfast Briefings, Lunch & Learns, Hands-on Tutorials, networking opportunities, demos, an AI Zone, the Intel reCharge Lounge and more!
