ANSYS in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Software Developer in our Job of the Week.
The Software Development Engineer involves developing, implementing, and maintaining functionality related to the ANSYS MAPDL application and Mechanical product line. The immediate work will be to advance Ansys/Mechanical material constitutive modeling development and finite element method in general with state of the art technology. Other areas of work for this position may include; developing and enhancing MAPDL nonlinear solution, global procedure and high performance computing capabilities. Experience in mechanical, civil, engineering mechanics or aerospace engineering with strong scientific programming and computational mechanics background is required.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and maintain features in Mechanical APDL according to project requirements and established quality standards
- Participate in project planning, design review sessions and team functions
- Create development testing and assist in validation of new features
- Prepare development documentation and assist in preparation of release documentation
- Provide technical guidance to assist customer support staff
- Resolve and document reported defects
- Interact with project teams across business units to address corporate project requirements
- Participate in the job performance assessment process
