Argonne National Laboratory is seeking an Assistant Computational Scientist in our Job of the Week.
The Computational Scientist assists in the development and implementation of machine learning strategies for the development of new materials. Principal effort includes the identification of appropriate data science techniques for accelerating the development of materials, developing and validating software to perform these methods, and working with materials engineers to put the tools in to practice.
Position Requirements:
- Understands artificial intelligence methods and their application in the physical sciences
- Familiarity with machine learning and materials simulation software suited for high-performance computing
- Fluency in scientific Python packages and modern machine learning frameworks
- Communicates and collaborates with a broad spectrum of scientists
- Will document results in publications, technical reports, and scientific presentations
- Bachelor’s and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s and 3+ years or experience, or Doctorate degree or equivalent
