The University of Kansas is seeking a Director of the Center for Research Computing in our Job of the Week.

This position will have oversight responsibility for the strategic planning, development, and delivery of an enterprise research computing services model for KU, meeting research objectives and their ongoing development/evolutional needs. The Director will also lead overall technology architecture discussions; contribute to tactical projects in regards to the high-performance cluster, research storage programs, and technology driven by researchers needs. The incumbent will be critical to help build consensus on architectures, serve as a steward of innovation, incubate solutions that exploit technical breakthroughs, and promote the well-being of the research community at KU. The Director will work closely with KU Information Technology in these endeavors and will report to the Vice Chancellor for Research.  In an effort to continue to enrich the academic, research and administration environment and provide equal employment opportunities, the university and Office of research actively encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups in higher education.

The CRC oversees the KU Community Cluster and supports the users that utilize it. The cluster is a heterogeneous cluster composed of 380 nodes, 9280 cores, and 55.8TB of memory. There are 300+ users spread across 23 different centers and departments from the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Research in the CRC spans the natural and social sciences and engineering.
