Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mid-Career Software Engineer in our Job of the Week.

We are seeking an HPC Tools Software Engineers for our Engineering Support team on the HPC contract. Lockheed Martin provides High Performance Computing services throughout the HPC lifecycle for computational requirements, architecture, acquisition, and operations to federal government customers. The program provides key supercomputing capabilities for solving important problems in science and technology. The program is involved in efforts to develop scientific software and libraries for HPC platforms. This work involves working on cutting edge HPC technologies to ensure that scientists and engineers will be able to fully utilize modern HPC systems.

Summary:

You will be an active member of the Engineering Support team, interacting with the team, TUS team lead, program Chief Scientist, Chief Engineer, customers, users, and site staff.

The Engineering Support team is responsible for working with the team, users, and government to provide well designed and implemented tools including interactive web pages connected to Bugzilla based task tracking tool, PBS Pro software supporting user and system needs, Splunk design and implementation, and many other infrastructure engineering tasks. You will work closely with the team, users, and government to ensure the tools meet requirements and fully support the program’s needs.

An individual should have demonstrated his/her problem-solving ability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Engineering team to implement required infrastructure projects and updates.
  • Write and shepherd scalable features designs through the entire software development process, from requirements and use cases to shipping product
  • Apply best practices in software engineering, delivering projects on time and with excellent quality
  • Provide support to staff and end users to resolve issues
  • Modify existing infrastructure software to correct errors and/or improve performance
  • Lockheed Martin provides Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/SE Linux based HPC services throughout the lifecycle for computational requirements, architecture, acquisition, and operations to federal government customers.
