ALCF Webinar May 26: NVIDIA Profiling Tools Ecosystem for HPC and AI

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) on May 26 will host a webinar in which NVIDIA will present their profiling tools, Nsight Systems and Nsight Compute, and will discuss how they are used in HPC and AI use cases. Registration is here.

Nsight Systems is NVIDIA’s application/system level profiling tool that collects a timeline of application activity, including CPU and GPU workloads; Nsight Compute is NVIDIA’s kernel profiling tool that allows you to collect detailed performance analysis information on individual GPU kernels.

A brief overview presentation will be followed by a live demo of the tools on the ALCF ThetaGPU system. NVIDIA will also discuss best practices for usage in HPC and AI use cases.

The speaker will by Max Katz, NVIDIA senior solutions architect. He works with the US Department of Energy on the deployment and use of their GPU-powered supercomputers. Katz is a computational astrophysicist who researches explosions of stars using fluid dynamics simulations. He holds a PhD in Physics from Stony Brook University and a BS in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
