HPE’s Bill Mannel

Long-time HPC industry veteran and HPE executive Bill Mannel has been named Chief Technologist for Americas HPC & AI Solution Sales at HPE.

Mannel joined HPE in 2014, serving as vice president and general manager of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.

Of his new role, Mannel said on his LinkedIn profile, “I’ll be working closely with customers to develop HPC and AI solutions for their toughest problems, by merging science, technology and speed. Success in this position means leveraging HPE’s award-winning Exascale technologies across widely diverse workloads and markets. Initial market focus will be Health & Life Sciences, Manufacturing (including Energy) and Financial Services; initial territory focus will be central U.S. but I’ll help throughout the Americas. I’ll continue to support key relationships as Executive Sponsor such as NASA and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”

Before joining HPE, Mannel for more than five years was at HPC company SGI (acquired by HPE in 2016), where he served as general manager, compute and storage, among other executive roles.

Mannel holds degrees from Duke University and San Jose State University.
