Qumulo and Supermicro Launch Joint Storage Offering on Supermicro’s 1U Hybrid -NVMe Platform

SEATTLE – Nov. 1, 2022 – Petabyte-scale data storage company Qumulo today announced a Hybrid-NVMe platform from Supermicro.

“We are thrilled to offer our customers more platform choices,” said Kiran Bhageshpur, Chief Technology Officer of Qumulo. “Qumulo’s intelligent caching technology, which ensures that most reads and all writes are NVMe-first for best performance, takes advantage of the new Supermicro NVMe + HDD platform to maximize performance at an affordable price point.”

Unstructured data is being created today faster than ever before. International Data Corporation (IDC) predicts 80% of the world’s data will be file or object-based in the next five years.1  New use cases and greater reliance on unstructured data from enterprises will create ever-changing and highly variable storage requirements over the next few years. IT teams will need to deliver the performance their businesses need while controlling costs, which can often be difficult to predict. In fact, cost is reported as a top pain point by IT managers, followed by management and optimization of performance and capacity. The new Hybrid-NVMe nodes on Supermicro provide customers with a simplified and cost-efficient way to store, manage and secure their file data in a single solution.

A global leader in high-performance high-efficiency server technology and innovation, Supermicro develops and provides end-to-end green computing solutions to the data center, cloud computing, enterprise IT, big data, HPC and embedded markets. Customers look to Supermicro for reliable, economical and energy-efficient storage solutions. The new Hybrid-NVMe nodes provide high-density storage in just 1U of rack space, helping customers control not only storage capacity costs but overall energy expenditure and physical data center space.

“The combination of Qumulo’s software on Supermicro’s 1U Hybrid-NVMe system enables customers to optimize their deployments for cost efficiency, performance, and energy savings,” said Don Clegg, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales of Supermicro. “Our continued collaboration with Qumulo  delivers industry-leading storage solutions for customers demanding higher performance and lower TCO.”
