Jan. 4, 2023 — Applications are due Wednesday, March 1 for the annual Argonne Training Program on Extreme-Scale Computing (ATPESC), which will take place July 30-August 11, 2023 in the Chicago area.

Apply here. There are no fees to participate in ATPESC. Domestic airfare, meals and lodging are also provided.

The program offers the opportunity to learn the tools and techniques to do computational science on the most powerful supercomputers –DOE’s leadership-class systems at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility, the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility and the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center.

The program curriculum includes scientists and HPC experts, who will serve as lecturers and guide hands-on training sessions. The core curriculum will cover:

Computer architectures

Numerical algorithms and mathematical software

Software productivity and sustainability

Data analysis, visualization, I/O, and methodologies for big data applications

Performance measurement and debugging tools

Machine learning and data science

Those eligible to participate include doctoral students, postdocs, and computational scientists. ATPESC eligibility and application details are on the website.

ATPESC is funded by the Exascale Computing Project, a collaborative effort of the DOE Office of Science’s Advanced Scientific Computing Research Program and the National Nuclear Security Administration.
