March 9, 2023 — The U.S. Department of Energy has announced a $120 million funding opportunity for fusion energy research.
The deadline for pre-applications is Friday, April 7, 2023 at 5 pm ET. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:59pm ET.

This announcement was issued by DOE SC programs in Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) and Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR), which said they are interested in receiving multi-institutional applications for the Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing (SciDAC) Partnerships program.
This FOA invites applications for the SciDAC-5 Partnerships in support of scientific discovery and programmatic objectives through collaborations between fusion / plasma scientists and applied mathematicians and/or computer scientists from the SciDAC Institutes that exploit DOE high performance computing (HPC) facilities.
