The 2024 OCP Global Summit (and co-located Future Technologies Symposium) call for proposals opened on May 13 and will close this Friday, June 21 at 5 pm PT. Click here for more information. The OCP Global Summit will take place from Tuesday, Oct. 15 to Wednesday, Oct. 17.
The conference organizers said they are running ahead of number of submissions this year and do not anticipate extending the deadline.
The Open Compute Project (OCP) is about making community-led hyperscale innovations available to all. At the core of the OCP is its community of hyperscale data center operators, joined by telecom, colocation providers and enterprise IT users, working with vendors to develop open innovations that when embedded in products are deployed from the cloud to the edge.
The summit is intended to showcase (1) the work of the OCP Community that takes place in OCP Projects, highlight impact of OCP Projects in the market through deployments of OCP recognized equipment, (2) influence of OCP community through adoption of standardizations developed within the OCP Community, (3) and put a spotlight on new innovations that can significantly impact the market in the next product generation.
Breakout sessions include (1) OCP Project sessions which are technical deep dives to allow for collaboration and intense discussions on current OCP Project activities and new products. (2) Special Focus Sessions often curated by a special program committee on topics or new innovations that are relevant to OCP from adjacent communities, and (3) OCP Foundation curated topics.
The content and mix for the OCP Global Summit Breakout Sessions will depend on the response to the Call for Proposals and the demand from our Community.
Topics of interest for the Future Technologies Symposium include:
AI / HPC: Includes topics aimed at future generations of AI systems for AI/HPC and how it impacts AI cluster HW/SW design: energy-centric architectures for HPC, overall AI system efficiency, accelerating model training and inference, quantizing effects.
Data Center Sustainability: Includes topics aimed at new methods to prolong product life cycles, application of cutting-edge materials and technologies in shaping the life cycle of data center products, innovative research focusing on sustainable practices and technologies in the data center industry, carbon capture technologies, development and application of high-efficiency, environmentally friendly energy storage solutions, future generation energy reuse, novel methodologies for carbon accounting and costing, particularly as applied to AI/ML, trends and future implications of policy and regulation pertaining to achieving Net Zero, other cutting edge work on intersection of sustainability and data centers.
Other Future Technologies From Adjacent Communities: If you have a transformative idea outside of the above focus areas, examples include Quantum Technology or Power Co-generation, you may submit your work in this category.
Please submit a two page IEEE formatted paper for the OCP Future Technologies Symposium to be considered for a presentation and poster! Abstracts will not be considered.
