The HPC Innovation Excellence Awards recognize noteworthy achievements by users of high-performance computing (HPC). The 2024 HPC Innovation Excellence Award winners will be announced at the Hyperion Research AI/HPC Market Update breakfast briefing during SC24. To honor their achievements, a trophy and a $1,000 USD prize will be presented, and a press release will announce the achievement.

By HPC, the organization refers to:
- Traditional HPC (parallel computing via on-prem clusters or cloud; traditional workloads such as modeling, simulation, and computational analysis)
- Artificial Intelligence (including GenAI, machine learning, deep learning, and related technologies)
- Quantum Computing (including hybrid quantum/classical systems, quantum technologies, post-quantum cryptography, quantum sensing, and more)
Program goals:
- Recognize HPC-driven innovations in science, engineering, and data analytics, encompassing both public sector advancements in science and public or private sector returns on investment (ROI).
- Showcase HPC accomplishments across various environments, including traditional HPC centers, enterprise data centers, cloud computing platforms, and quantum computing systems.
- Highlight the broad benefits of adopting HPC.
- Demonstrate the value of HPC to funding organizations, elected officials, and investors.
- Expand public understanding of and support for HPC.
- Showcase successful applications of HPC in solving or contributing to the resolution of significant real-world problems (e.g., climate change, healthcare).
Notes:
- Given the wide range of technologies involved, there are no strict criteria for application. Each submission will be evaluated based on its merit and context.
- Multiple winners may be selected in a given year. The goal is not to determine a single winner per year, but to recognize and celebrate a range of outstanding achievements.
