Nov. 14 Deadlinefor 2 DOE ASCR Scientific Computing Review Panels

Oct. 7, 2024: The U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) program has announced that Thursday, Nov. 14 is the deadline for two scientic computing review panels.

Notice of Funding Opportunity DE-FOA-0003432 contains submission requirements for:

Randomized Algorithms for Combinatorial Scientific Computing

  • This topic area is highlighted in Section 3.3 of the ASCR report “Randomized Algorithms for Scientific Computing”, https://doi.org/10.2172/1807223.
  • To be considered by the panel, a pre-application must be submitted by Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024.
  • ASCR expects to provide pre-application encouragement and discouragement decisions by Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.
  • To be reviewed by the panel, applications associated with encouraged pre-applications must be submitted by Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025.
  • The award ceiling is $1,000,000 per year in total across all institutions for a three-year award.
  • ASCR expects to make at most three awards.

The Intersection of Quantum Thermodynamics and Computing

  • To be considered by the panel, a pre-application must be submitted by November 14, 2024.
  • ASCR expects to provide encouragement and discouragement decisions by December 4, 2024.
  • To be reviewed by the panel, applications associated with encouraged pre-applications must be submitted by January 7, 2025.
  • The award ceiling is $500,000 in total for a two-year award.
  • ASCR expects to make at most three awards.
