The Open Compute Project issued the following statement:

OCP is about bringing Community-led hyperscale innovations to all. At the core of the OCP is its community of hyperscale data center operators, joined by telecom, colocation providers and enterprise IT users, working with vendors to develop open innovations that, when embedded in products, are deployed from the cloud to the edge.

The OCP Community is diverse, composed of engineers spanning from large companies working on projects that will deliver at-scale products and services to members from throughout the IT and Data center ecosystem. Collaborations within the OCP Projects typically target products and facilities to be introduced to the market within the next 12 months. The OCP Future Technologies Symposium is an effort to highlight academics, researchers and startups who are solving problems that will impact future products over the next 2-5 years.
