Petrobras Brazil Awards $138M HPC Contract to Atos Bull

A recent report in Bnamericas stated that Atos Bull has won a supercomputing contract from Brazilian federal oil firm Petrobras.

According to the report, Atos Bull submitted a bid of 780mn reais (US$138 million), which was the lowest among four bidders for the contract.

The machine will target geoscience and geoengineering operations, according to Bnamericas.

The other contestants for the contract included Dell Technologies, which reportedly appealed the decision but was turned down by Petrobras, along with Lenovo and Taiwan’s Adata.
