Are you passionate about advancing research on climate change, genomics, manufacturing, and in other disciplines?  Are you excited about supporting translational research?  Do you enjoy data science? Do you want to work with bright and inspiring minds?  Are you motivated to build large-scale systems?

The recently established Yale Center for Research Computing is seeking a Director of High Performance Computing (HPC).

This position, under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Yale Center for Research Computing, will help create a world class HPC infrastructure to support computationally and data intensive research at Yale University.  This may include, but is not limited to, creating HPC systems for:

  • high availability environments
  • use with protected health information (PHI)
  • use with big data instrumentation
  • advanced processing of medical imaging data.

This is a hands-on position, and the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved with understanding the usage patterns of the HPC community, which will help inform the planning for future systems and optimizations.  The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work within a team, juggle many simultaneous projects, and a can-do attitude.
