Atos and Verizon Team on 5G Edge Analytics

New York and Paris — January 26, 2022 – Verizon Business and Atos today announce a partnership to power IoT solutions with private 5G multi-access edge computing for businesses, government and communities worldwide. The 5G edge solution enables companies to leverage predictive analytics, designed to allow them to improve operational efficiency, mitigate risk and increase revenue. “Combining the expertise […]

New Supercomputer Enables Rugged, Real-Time AI at the Edge

[SPONSORED POST] Program managers face hard tradeoffs bringing artificial intelligence to in-the-field use cases. This whitepaper, “New Supercomputer Enables Rugged, Real-Time AI at the Edge,” describes a new AI server from One Stop Systems that shows what capabilities they should look for in portable, rugged AI deployments. The Rigel: Edge Supercomputer addresses AI in the field requirements: high-performance computing (HPC) using optimized CPUs, advanced GPUs and flash memory NVMe drives, and high-bandwidth interconnects.

Unify Your HPC Computing Infrastructure from Edge-to-Core-to-Cloud

In this contributed article, Bill Wagner, CEO of Bright Computing, discusses how the definition of “edge computing” has solidified as “compute at the network edge” and has become inextricably tied to IoT and 5G. Yet there’s a much bigger and broader reality of edge that organizations are now facing.

PCIe 4.0 Rugged Short-Depth Server Appliance for Edge AI HPC

AI Transportable™ applications such as autonomous vehicles, situational command and control, aerospace, and high-complexity video-based inference and security often require real-time decision-making with limited 5G or no network connectivity to a centralized datacenter. Commercial-grade servers and expansion products are not suitable for these applications due to harsh physical environments and the transportable nature of the deployments. To address these use-cases, One Stop Systems has developed the industry leading PCIe Gen4 HPC server appliance designed for performance without compromise in a compact, rugged, and transportable form-factor.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management for HPC

Henry Newman from Seagate Government Solutions gave this talk at the HPC User Forum in Santa Fe. “Cyber attacks and security breaches have become commonplace with explosion of data. More often than not, these breaches could have prevented or greatly reduced if these institutions would have followed prescribed security standards. As we move to the edge and go to 5G networks, there is going to be more distributed data and therefore protection is going to have to go out to the edge as well.”
