ESI Releases SimulationX 3.9 for Manufacturing

ESI Group has announced the release of SimulationX 3.9, a software platform for multiphysics system simulation. Designed for many industries – from automotive, energy, and mining to industrial machinery, railways, aerospace and aeronautics – SimulationX has proven to be one of the most reliable and customer-friendly solutions on the market.

Video: Sand Casting Simulation for Manufacturing

In this video courtesy of DENIZCILLER, the sand casting process is simulated with ESI ProCAST and QuikCAST. “Simulations like this help foundry engineers understand how metal expands and contracts during the casting process, thereby predicting the final locations of shrinkage porosity. Several other possible defects can occur during a casting process causing imperfection to the final product. To reduce or eliminate these defects, a well-designed gating and feeding system needs to be developed.”

Huawei and ESI to Collaborate on HPC for Manufacturing

ESI Group has signed agreement with Huawei to collaborate on on High Performance Computing and cloud computing for industrial manufacturing solutions for customers in China and worldwide. “The ongoing digital transformation of industrial manufacturing demands enterprise-level IT solutions that are more intelligent, efficient, and convenient, especially in the HPC domain,” said Zheng Yelai, President, Huawei IT Product Line.

Nor-Tech & ESI Partner on Affordable Clusters for OpenFOAM

“We saw a disconnect in the industry between rapidly growing organizations that could really benefit from HPC clusters and the solutions that were on the market,” said Nor-Tech President and CEO David Bollig. “Our goal was to develop a powerful, scalable cluster that was in itself affordable, but also didn’t require hefty, recurring software licensing fees.”

ESI Opens Datacenter at Teratec for Engineering in the Cloud

Although the cloud has become an accepted part of commercial and consumer computing, science and engineering have been less welcoming to the concept, but this could be on the point of changing with the announcement this month that the ESI Group will be delivering advanced engineering simulation in the cloud, across multiple physics and engineering disciplines.

ESI Opens New European HPC Center

Today the French ESI Group announced the opening of its new European HPC Center. The datacenter is now based on the Teratec Campus, an ideal location to launch collaborative High-Performance Computing projects as it is in the vicinity of Europe’s biggest HPC center: the CEA’s Très Grand Centre de Calcul. The new datacenter will effectively act as ESI’s POD (Point of Delivery), serving all ESI offices across Europe as a platform for ESI’s new software development and engineering services alike. ESI teamed up with Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures to meet the technical challenges surrounding this project.
